St. James Easter 2024

While we celebrate on Easter the first human being to rise from the dead, we are also celebrating our own future resurrection. In Christ God has entered our narrative and rescued it. He has loved his neighbor and God, though he was tempted with every possible temptation we encounter. Still He sacrificed Himself for us, took our place in punishment on the cross. Finally He rose from the dead and lives today.

He exchanged His righteousness for our unrighteousness, His immortality for our immortality. So that we may be righteous, forgiven, and immortal. So that you may be next to come out of the tomb!

St. Paul says in Romans 6, “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.

While we wait for the resurrection we are given new life today, new hope, new peace, new purpose and meaning! No matter what you have done, God forgives. No matter what you suffer, you will rise again.

How can we serve you?
